Amie Quaife qualified as a Chiropractor in 2010 from Glamorgan University with a Master in Chiropractic after 4 years of study. Before this time, Amie gained a First Class Honours Degree in Human Biology from Glamorgan University. It was during her studies for Human Biology that she saw the wonderful benefits of Chiropractic care. Due to studying full-time at University with her head in books and poor posture at the laptop, Amie suffered with disabling headaches which would prevent her from studying. A friend recommended Amie seek Chiropractic care which had not occurred to her beforehand. After her first visit, she not only saw the amazing benefits of Chiropractic care but also decided this was the profession she wanted to be part of.
On graduation, Amie immediately moved to North Wales from her home in the South West of England to help people in Wrexham and surrounding areas. It wasn't long before she met her future husband (a local Wrexham man) and her life in Wrexham was signed and sealed.
Since graduation, Amie has developed her skills and experience with continued professional development. Amie is passionate about adapting chiropractic techniques to benefit a broad range of patients, regardless of build or age. She uses diversified technique including manipulation, activator, blocks and drops. Since graduation, Amie has qualified as a dry needling practitioner to further develop her range of treatments. Most recently, Amie has completed a course in massage during pregnancy, and is delighted to be able to offer this service.
Amie co-founded Active Health in Coedpoeth with her Husband Tom in June 2015 to continue to provide Chiropractic care for the people of Wrexham. Fully registered with the British Chiropractic Association and The General Chiropractic Council, Amie now works full time at the Active Health clinic.
In her spare time Amie enjoys cycling, walking around the local area and visiting family in Somerset and the Midlands.
Tom Williams co founded Active Health with Amie, and is both the practice manager and resuscitation trainer. Qualifying as a staff nurse in 1998, he worked in Wrexham’s busy Emergency Department before joining the ambulance service and training as a paramedic. After more than ten years on the road serving the public of Wrexham area, he became a clinical skills tutor in the Maelor hospital, teaching medical students and all grades of hospital staff how to provide top quality emergency care. In 2013 he traveled to Ethiopia with the Wales4Africa team from the Maelor, working to improve conditions and care levels in this impoverished country.
Retaining his status as both a registered nurse and paramedic, he continues to teach advanced life support at the highest level, and soon will be offering bespoke training sessions from the Active Health premises.
In his spare time he is a member of Wrecsam Tri club, and can often be found racking up the miles on his bike in the North Wales countryside or open water swimming. He is also an accomplished sailor, and in 2011 sailed singlehandedly around the Atlantic Ocean in a 9 metre boat.
After just 3 treatments, I already feel so much better thanks to Amie with her treatment and advice. Many thanks.
The treatment I have had has been fantastic for me. I had very tight shoulders and glut muscles on my first visit and my shoulders now feel great and my back pain has improved no end. I have even recommended my friend to come and she has found benefit too. Thank you so much to date for my treatment.
I am now able to get out of bed in the morning like more of a spring chicken rather than a 90 year old!
I had severe neck and shoulder pain for at least eight years, causing my dizziness, numbness and headache. After my first appointment here I had much more movement in my neck and less pain. By my fourth treatment I felt brilliant, hardly any pain and more movement. I feel like a whole new person. Thanks Amie
My walking has improved dramatically. I am now able to hold my head up.
Really pleased with results of treatment. Thank you!
Amie, I am so grateful, and you seem to understand and help my problem perfectly! Thank you
Brilliant service, pains/symptoms sorted out in a lot less treatments than anticipated. Will definitely be returning with any aches or pains in the future
Amie has explained my treatment at every step and I now have a better understanding of my back and problems in general
